After my 2012 Thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail, my life was changed forever. The challenge of big adventure had me hooked. I soon set a goal of sailing alone and without stopping around the world. In 2017-18, I did just that! Since then, I have taken my podcast aboard my Westsail32 as well as in my everyday life. The shows are a mix of my own past experiences along with interviews of everyday people that have a seemingly endless number of stories themselves. Sometimes things just don't go the way we want them to! We had to haul the vessel back out of the water for more work before she will be ready for an offshore passage. Today we are getting a Westsail 32 ready for the ocean. The intended route is offshore from Florida to Puerto Rico, but a large amount of prep and checks need to be done before heading out. I talk about some of the lists and projects we are working through to get ready.

My cousin Heather is the definition of a Super Mom, not only does she kill it every day with her three children, but she can find time to sort me out with speaking engagements at local schools near Chicago. Today we compare offshore sailing to raising a family and to be honest, I think I have the easy road without question.
